导师简介
Ethan X. Fang is an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics & Bioinformatics at Duke Medical School and affiliated with Decision Sciences of Fuqua Business School and Rhodes Information Initiative at Duke University. He works on different data science problems from computational and statistical perspectives. Before joining Duke, he was an assistant professor of Statistics at Penn State, and got his PhD from Princeton University. His works have appeared at top venues in different areas such as statistics (Annals of Statistics, Journal of the American Statistical Association, Journal of Royal Statistical Society: Series B), optimization (SIAM Journal on Optimization, Mathematical Programming), machine learning (Journal of Machine Learning Research, ICLR, NeurIPS), and operations research (Operations Research). He received 2016 Best Paper Prize in Continuous Optimization for Young Researcher (1 paper selected in 3 years).

Alex Belloni is the John D. Forsyth Distinguished Professor of Business Administration at Fuqua School of Business. He received his Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2006) and a M.Sc. in Mathematical Economics from IMPA (2002). He deferred the offer to join the faculty at Duke University to accept the IBM Herman Goldstein Postdoctoral Fellowship (2006-2007). His research interests are on statistics and optimization and on their applications to Economics and Business. His current research focuses on developing and analyzing methods for model selection in Econometric problems, and for solving Mechanism Design problems. He became 2014-2016 F.M. Kirby Research Fellow, and received the 2007 Young Researchers Competition in Continuous Optimization Award and the second prize at the INFORMS 2006 George Nicholson Student Paper Award.His research papers have appeared in journals such as Econometrica, Review of Economic Studies, Annals of Statistics, Marketing Science, Management Science and Operations Research.
